"The ring" passes under - NÜRBURGRING


For those of you who do not know the Nürburgring circuit, is more a historical German, if not all tyre manufacturers race track test their tires on the track as it simulates driving every day. Apparently, "The Ring" goes and is due to file for bankruptcy. What happen with this impressive track...?

NÜRBURGRING GmbH, the State company that owns Nürburgring has broken down.
The company expects for a 13 million € rescue package of the European Commission, but the European competition authorities refused to approve the plan and the company that owns the track has now announced that goes into administration.
Although parts of the ' ring are profitable, large amounts of money were squandered on a roller coaster that was considered too dangerous to run and a huge shopping mall is practically empty.
Events will continue as normal, as administrators to try and extract more value from the situation as possible. It seems that the taxpayer should pick up the invoice. Ernst & young value of the assets of €126 million, but the signature is $413 million in debt.
Likely will assume a new private investor or the circuit will be under State control. Meanwhile, lots of dead wood will trim the Nürburgring circuit to make it look as attractive as possible to potential new financiers.

Nürburgring is a motorsports complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It has a built in 1984 Grand Prix race track, and a much longer track former North loop which was built in the 1920s around the town and the medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It lies about 70 km south of Cologne, and 120 km northwest of Frankfurt. The old track was nicknamed "The Green hell" by Jackie Stewart and is considered one of the racing circuits built the world's most demanding.
Originally, the song four settings: the 28.265 km-Gesamtstrecke long ("course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 Nordschleife ("Northern Loop") km and km 7.747 Sudschleife ("South loop"). There was also a loop of warming of 2,281 km called Zielschleife ("finish loop") or better known as Betonschleife, around the boxes area.
